We are completely redesigning our Midnight Regiment t-shirt this year. We have a design concept that we will now plan to use year after year (just like we have done with the MS band shirt). The HS band students, alumni band, and Band Boosters will all have the same shirt instead of different shirts for every group. I already have the sizes for all HS band students. I should have a design to show everyone on Tuesday or Wednesday. PARENTS: If anyone else in your family wants a shirt, please let me know those sizes by September 3. You may pay for them when they come in. Please show your support by getting an awesome Midnight Regiment shirt!
Shirt prices are:
XS - XL $17
After much consideration, we will now do the remainder of our BIG playing test for marching band via video. Students must send me a video of themselves playing through the song, FROM MEMORY, from beginning to end. Videos must be done in one take, not sections spliced together. I need to see the students playing with no music. Due dates for playing tests are as follows. All videos are due by 10:00 p.m. on the date indicated.
Oklahoma retakes - September 3
Bohemian Rhapsody - September 5
We Will Rock You - September 12
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - September 19
I hope this will encourage the students to put their best foot forward and take out some of the "nerve" factor in doing a memorized playing test. Students should NOT wait until the last minute and give themselves plenty of opportunities to get things the way they want them. All videos should be submitted to me via email at either: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
PISTOL PETE RUN:
We need approximately 10 students (HS age) and/or parents to help us with the Pistol Pete Run on Saturday, September 6. We have been asked every year for the past several years to provide volunteers to help with this great community event. In return, a donation is made to the band program. Workers need to report to the downtown Payne County Bank location at 6:30 a.m. next Saturday to receive assigned duties. It only takes a couple of hours and you would still have the rest of your Saturday to do other things. We really need your help, so please sign up if you are able. This is a great opportunity to support the P-T Band and help with a fantastic community-wide event! Follow this link to sign up: Pistol Pete Run Sign-up
We have an incredible, custom guitar that has been made by P-T Band dad, Roger Cowan of Dog Tired Guitars. Roger personally built the guitar and is donating it for a raffle to help raise funds for new uniforms. Tickets can be purchased at any P-T home football game, where the guitar will be on display. People who are not local may purchase tickets through the link on the band's home page. The drawing for the guitar will be on December 15 at the P-T Band Christmas Concert. Thank you so much, Roger, for taking the time to make such a beautiful instrument to donate to our cause!!
