FIREWORKS STAND
We are getting closer and closer to opening the fireworks stand. Many of you have already signed up to work at least one shift and we thank you immensely for that. If you have not yet signed up, PLEASE do so today!
We still need help with a couple of things.
I will post instructions very soon on what all workers need to do during their shift. Plan to wear a P-T Band shirt if at all possible.
Finally, PROMOTE our efforts! LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT WE ARE DOING THIS! Use social media, email, phone calls, or whatever you can to let folks know that they should buy their fireworks from us! 100% of the proceeds made from this stand will go to purchase our new uniforms!

- Need a few more people on the morning of June 24 at 9:00 a.m. to help set up the shelving that will be used to hold the fireworks.
- We really need more students and adults for some shifts where no one is signed up yet. PLEASE help if you can. If you can work an extra shift in addition to what you have already signed up for, that would be fabulous! Click HERE to go to the sign-up sheet!
- Need some more canopies to set up just outside of the tent where our customers will stand. This will provide much needed shade for them while they are making their purchases. We already have one that we are borrowing from a family, but a couple more would be great!
- If you have any large fans that we could use at the tent, everyone working would really appreciate it! Please let me know if you have any that we could borrow.

DCI SHOW
If you have never been to a drum corp show or don't even know what drum corps is, sign up to attend the DCI Drums of Summer show in Tulsa on July 16! This show is a MUST SEE for our band students and family members. The show starts at 7:00, however, we will probably arrive around 6:00 (or whenever the gates open). Depending on the size of our group, we will try to leave Perkins around mid-afternoon and grab something to eat before going to the show. You can also choose to meet the group there if you wish.
We will be happy to take a school bus IF we have enough interest, however, everyone will be charged small fee for gas. (The school will charge us to use the vehicle during the summer months.)

DID YOU KNOW?
Members of all ages of Perkins-Tryon percussion section recently attended the "Sounds of Summer" percussion camp in Glenpool. They were taught by some incredible clinicians and came away from the camp with a wealth of knowledge. PLUS, members of the high school drum line are already having weekly rehearsals in preparation for the upcoming school year! They are pumped up and ready to go! Have you been practicing like you need to? It's never too late to get going on the show music! Don't wait until the last minute!

SmartMusic is coming soon!!
This coming school year, we are going to utilize a program called SmartMusic. We will be using this program not only as an assessment tool for playing tests, but for other assignments as well. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that students purchase a "student subscription" for $40 a year. You can use your desktop, laptop, or an iPad. (Make sure you check all requirements needed and have internet access.) Once you download the program and successfully subscribe, you are ready to go!
